I've been a fan of Basta Pasta for their Italian dishes for years, so imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered they were offering an omakase on weekends! Intrigued, I decided to try it, and let me tell you, it was absolutely sublime. Each dish was incredibly fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. The selection was diverse and showcased a deep understanding of flavor profiles, textures and each bite was a delightful surprise. However I am a dessert person and omakase dessert was a bit of disappointment to end the meal. Hope they can improve that department! Otherwise I would have give 5 stars. If you're looking for a unique Japanese Italian dining experience that blends unexpected creativity with top-notch ingredients, you absolutely must try the omakase here. However, please double-check if they still offer omakase before planning your visit. ”
“ Revisiting a decade later and it's just as good as I remembered it to be. Italian pasta with some Japanese inspiration makes for some of the best creations I've ever had. The Reggiano and Parma prosciutto prepared table-side is a must try. The staff here is always friendly and accommodating. ”
“ This weekend my partner and I indulged in the 6-course tasting menu and we're absolutely BLOWN AWAY by dish after dish. Stars were the 6-hour braised lamb and the spaghetti with garlic. Even the sumptuous baked apple and vanilla Gelato felt decadent. Service was also top-tier on an increasingly busy Saturday Night and never waned. All dishes came out quickly and at temperature. The cocktails and mocktails were crisp and delicious, especially for the happy hour red wine. Our servers were just fantastic and everpresent. My partner works in sound and noticed the good soundproofing of the restaurant as well so even as it got packed and two big parties bordered us, we could still hear one another at base level without raising our voices. Other restaurants should take note! I hadn't been to Basta Pasta since it opened a while ago, so this overdue return was such a treat! ”
